Copyright

Worship A-Z — including its software, user interface, design system, membership card design, illustrations, iconography, text, and documentation — was designed and built by Barro Services LLC and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. Except as expressly permitted in the Terms of Service, no part of the Service may be copied, modified, distributed, sold, or used to create derivative works without the prior written permission of Barro Services LLC.

Trademarks

"Worship A-Z," the Worship A-Z wordmark, and the Worship A-Z masjid mark are trademarks of Barro Services LLC. Apple, iPhone, App Store, and VoiceOver are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names may be trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify their products.

Religious texts

Arabic phrases of remembrance (dhikr), the basmala, and the names of the daily prayers shown in the app are part of the shared heritage of the Muslim community and are not claimed by Barro Services LLC. Their translations and transliterations in the app are provided as a convenience; consult your masjid or a qualified scholar for guidance.

Qur'an translations and tafsir

The Qur'an reader bundles the following translations and commentaries, reproduced without alteration and credited to their authors. Worship A-Z claims no rights in them and does not charge for them.

The digital texts were obtained from the open-source projects fawazahmed0/quran-api (Unlicense) and spa5k/tafsir_api (MIT License), with thanks. Translations and tafsir are aids to understanding, not the Qur'an itself; consult your masjid or a qualified scholar for guidance.

Hadith

The app's reference library includes the hadith collections of Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan an-Nasa'i, Sunan Ibn Majah, An-Nawawi's Forty, Riyad as-Salihin, Al-Adab al-Mufrad, Hisn al-Muslim, Bulugh al-Maram and Ash-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyya, with their Arabic text, English translations, narrator chains, gradings and reference numbers.

The digital text is the dataset published by Sunnah.com, obtained through the open-source hadith-collections package. Sunnah.com asks that its data be used for non-commercial purposes, and Barro Services LLC claims no rights in it. The Arabic texts themselves are part of the shared heritage of the Muslim community; the English translations are the work of their respective translators, credited in each collection as published by Sunnah.com. Gradings are those recorded by Sunnah.com and are not independent rulings by Barro Services LLC.

Masjid directory data

Directory listings marked "OpenStreetMap contributors" are derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Corrections made by masjid administrators in Worship A-Z are not contributed back automatically.

Community content

Members and masjids keep the copyright in what they post. Barro Services LLC uses that content only under the limited license described in the Terms of Service, to deliver the Service to the people it was shared with.

Reporting infringement

If you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes: your contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; the location of the material in the Service; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. Send it to legal@worshipaz.com (interim: mbarrom@gmail.com). We respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may terminate repeat infringers.
